I'm wondering if more people will post if there's an incentive... so, now there is one! Every in-character post that is made before the end of April will earn 20 points for your house. You might have noticed that Phoenix Tears is losing members, but hopefully it can be resurrected. So, there is an activity check going on here. If you haven't already, please post there. Inactive members (as of March 31) will be marked as such with a turqoise user color. Also, the status has been changed. It is now a warm, blustery March at Hogwarts. Finally, new point-earning contests have been posted in this thread. HOUSE POINTS

First off, what are house points? Most of you probably know this, but in case there are some people who don't know, I shall explain. House points are, well, points that houses can both earn and loose. Students of certain houses can either gain more points for their house by doing good things, or lose points by doing bad things. The house with the most house points in the end wins the house cup.

What is the house cup good for?
Well, nothing really...it's just a shiny trophy that makes people of the winning house all happy and stuff because they won.

Here at Phoenix Tears, the people in the winning house might get a prize of some sort.I've not really decided what it is, but who knows.
Maybe the people who win the most house points will get a signature made for them, or a drawing of their character...

HOW TO EARN / LOSE POINTS

Earning;;
There are many ways to earn house points. Such ways include:

- Simply having your profile accepted. + 5pts
- Completing activities in the contest board
- Starting and/or joining a thread in the classrooms board [characters must be in class in the thread] + 15pts
- Being active [points awarded at every activity check] + 10pts
- Advertising the forum [points awarded for every recruited active member] + 20pts
- Making advertising banners for the forum [pts per banner] + 20pts
- Getting your post count over 100 posts + 25pts
- Getting your post count over 300 posts + 75pts
- getting your post count over 500 posts + 150pts

Losing;;
There are also ways to lose house points. Such ways include:

- Spamming the c-box - 10pts
- Spamming the boards - 20pts
- Breaking a rule once - 20pts
- Breaking a rule twice - 50pts
- Breaking a rule three times - 75pts
- Being overly rude to another member - 30pts
